About
​The Edith Walker Hong Memorial Foundation was founded in 2024 in honor of Edith, whose unexpected passing in January 2023 ignited the idea to honor her legacy and impact in special education. Edith was a passionate, and dedicated educator. She was a strong advocate for students with special needs and she fought for equality and opportunity for all students. Our goal through this foundation is to continue to carry out her life’s mission by supporting students with special needs, through scholarships, as they navigate the next phase of their lives.
Mission
​To honor the life of Edith, as a special education administrator and educator, by providing support to post-secondary educational pursuits and career training for students with special needs.
Vision
​To provide support, through scholarships, to students with special needs who pursue post-secondary education and/or career/trade work training programs. Over time we hope to continue to grow our available scholarships through the Edith Walker Hong Memorial Foundation.
